Cover Art 365

It’s Farm Map time again and I am trying to come up with cover art. I’m using the lovely Danica for my “basket in the hands” model. The trouble with printing on newsprint is that vibrant colors tend to grey out and everything looks muddy. Still have a bit of work to do on this but waiting to see if the concept is a go or if I need to start over. Happy Monday Friends -Rhondi

“Tisket a tasket” Lenas in a basket 365

lenaBasket copy

I have definitely gone over the edge this morning. Was working on finishing up some tasks and went off the road a bit. Lena and Danica were kind enough to help me with a project where I needed hands, a basket, and an apron. Little did lena know that she would be put in a magical forest toting around a basket full of her mini selves. Heck I didn’t know it until about ten minutes ago. Got this out of my system, now I will get back to work.- rhondi

Rainbow 365

I came home after work to discover that my neighbors seem to be the recipients of a large pot of gold. Probably just as well because I don’t know what I’d do with the sudden flush of fame and riches. -Rhondi

And so it begins 365

It’s happening. Spring. Or at least it’s on it’s way. These cherry trees greet me early each year. Blink and you’ll miss it. I always want to be ready with everything just so in the garden so that when “spring” arrives I can just sit there and enjoy the splendor. Here in the Northwest it seems to come willy nilly. A little here, a little there, then boom before you know it summer is here and I’m behind. Well actually truth be known the “Bearded One” has been gardening all winter mowing, pruning, and moving plants about, everything is neat as a pin, edged and the grass is a glorious shade of “Wolberts Green” so the only preparing I will have to do is to drag my chair into a bit of sun and enjoy the show. I must say on my behalf that I did pick up a couple of packets of seed to start in the greenhouse and will get right on it as soon as the Mr. fills my soil bin. Life… it’s pretty good here on the prairie.- Rhondi

The following picture has nothing whatsoever to do with spring. Rock

Brilliant Colors in B&W 365

Sandy and I were invited to dine and craft with Lena and Danica this last Saturday. The food was amazing, the decor was inspiring and a great time was had by all. I’m sure that Sister Sandy has now posted some colorful pictures (we had dueling cameras) from the event and I was going to do the same but instead decided to do the unthinkable and tell the colorful story in black and white.

What a great time… thanks again Lena and Danica. We’ll be back. -Rhondi

I Love Moo 365

moo5I love, love, love Moo. It’s where I buy my business cards. The company is a designers dream. They are also very fast. I needed some business cards for the United Way Black and White Gala that I get to shoot this weekend. I wanted a unique way to let people know where they could view all the photos that will be taken online. Presentation, presentation, presentation. I ordered them on Sunday nite and waited excitedly for them to arrive.

I really like Moo because they not only think outside the box they include a box too!

I chose a square format. The paper is extremely heavy. They almost feel like bar coasters. Little works of art.

Thanks Moo! I am totally smitten and satisfied! Oh, and they were on sale… Boy do they make me look important. –Rhondi

Mom, Dutch Bros., and thank you Isaak 365

dutchbrothersThis post is actually my yesterday and today combined. The Dutch Bros. Breve’ Latte was purchased on my way home from work today. It was delicious and exactly what I needed. Adding to the flavor was the fact that it was a freebie that came with my full punchcard.

The other two photos that I’m including I found while combing through my image files. These came off Mom’s camera, probably on one of my “here let me download these so you’ll have a copy” occasions. I’ve never seen these. they were off by themselves in an unnamed folder. As soon as I saw this photo I smiled. Anybody that knows my mom will see that this image contains a treasure-trove of “mom” details.

I first notice that the Hal Lindsy Report is highlighted on her tv screen. Her boots and crocs are near the back door, and her “tiny house” is filled with the coolest stuff. I also like that her piano is in the shot. I have no way of knowing when this was taken but I do think I know who took it.

Her puzzle partner. Thanks Isaak.  Great shot. -Aunt Rhondi

Shadows and Charles Smith 365

As some of you know I get to shoot wine bottles. Specifically I shoot EFESTE and Charles Smith wine bottles. This means That I have a nice little supply of wine in the pantry. In honor of seeing shadows today I decided to break out the “Royal City” Syrah. Thanks Charles.

I came into the kitchen just in time to see this. I ran and got my camera. Next thing I know this is what I saw in my viewfinder.

Waiting for news 365

Lately I’ve been processing a lot of black and white images. I had made up my mind to bring a little color back into my world. I’m not really a big fan of red only photos but this version kept calling to me so here we are.

This is the “Bearded Ones” hat rack. As I’m shooting this he is at the local alpaca rescue center where our own Sabrina is staying due to a mysterious health issue that has caused her to stop eating for the last week. It’s 7:30 pm and I am waiting for the latest vet report. These girls of ours have become quite dear to us and it has been especially hard for The “Bearded One”. We had thought that things were looking up but she seemed to take a turn for the worse this morning so we wait. Here is dear Sabrina during the last cold spell.

Good News! After trying everything he could think of the vet sedated her and put a feeding tube down her throat and into her stomach. That must’ve dislodged whatever was keeping her from swallowing because as she came out of sedation she began to eat. Hooray! The “Bearded One” came home late, cold, and tired but a very happy camper indeed!
